Charna Island

You must be thinking what the hell is “Charna Island” doing on a technology blog. Some of you even might be wondering what Charna Island really is. Well, let me clear the confusions first. Charna Island or as some people spell it, Churna Island has absolutely nothing to do with Technology. But the thrill and joy that I experienced this weekend while visiting tjhis absolutely beautiful place on the outskirts of Balochistan, has forced me to write about it.

Charna Island is an island at the outskirts of Balochistan province in Pakistan. It is located near HUB power plant on the beautiful coastal area. Although I had heard about it before, but for some reason never even searched for it on Google.

A friend of mine told me about this place and for some reason we immediately made up our minds to visit this place. And I must say, the moment I reached the seaside I was amazed just by finding myself at such a beautiful, pollution less, fresh and isolated masterpiece of nature in my very own province.

The thrill and enjoyment just increased from there on. Charna Island is renowned for Scuba Diving. Just search “Youtube Scuba Diving” and you’ll find Charna all over the place. We went straight to a couple of fishermen on the coast and rented a boat. We had to travel around 8kms from the coast to reach Churna Island. The water over there was wonderful, comparable to any beach in the world.

Now this was a 15kg fish that we managed to catch from Charna Island. We also met fishers from Mubarak Village that is just a few miles away from the main Churna Island.
